International Artist Kyle Holbrook has been a Piston fan since he was a child and his favorite player was Isiah Thomas. Holbrook painted a
mural and met Isiah Thomas at a mural for ‘Playing for Love’ premier on the red carpet in 2013.
The first pick in the NBA draft is an exciting time for the Pistons and a part of Detroit history.
Holbrook says, “This could be a start to getting the Pistons back to the Finals, my favorite and I feel greatest team of All-Time was the Bad- Boy Pistons in 88-89 who were Back to Back Champions!”
Last year’s ESPN Special “The Last Dance” didn’t show real respect for the Pistons, it’s perfect timing to get the First draft pick this year.
NBA Commisioner Adam Silver is also depicted to memorialize the moment of the draft.
How: The mural was hand painted by International Artist Kyle Holbrook on draft evening July 29, 2021.
Who: Moving Lives of Kids Arts Center (MLKmural.com) sponsored the mural. Executive Artist and founder of MLK Mural Project Kyle Holbrook painted the mural.
