Orlando, FL – September 25, 2024 – Internationally renowned artist Kyle Holbrook, known for his innovative murals and public art, is unveiling three new murals in collaboration with educational book sales specialists from across the country. The unveiling will take place at the Caribe Royale Resort, located at 8101 World Center Dr., Orlando, FL 32821, at 6:30 PM. This event is free and open to the public, offering an inspiring intersection of art and education.
Kyle Holbrook, who recently represented the United States at the Paris Olympics by creating four murals promoting peace, has partnered with the educational community to highlight the importance of reading, history, and shaping young minds through art. The project brings together book specialists who help distribute educational materials to schools, including books on reading, Black history, Latino history, and more. Their personal messages, focused on the significance of different grade levels and lessons, are integrated into the murals, symbolizing their dedication to empowering educators and students alike.
In his signature style, Holbrook incorporated these handwritten messages into the base layers of the murals, allowing them to shine through the finished artwork. This collaborative method, pioneered by Holbrook, adds a multi-layered depth to the pieces, both visually and meaningfully. The murals will later be installed in an Orlando school district, serving as lasting symbols of the educational mission they represent.
“This project is about more than just creating beautiful art,” said Kyle Holbrook, founder of the Moving Lives of Kids (MLK) Mural Project.
“It’s about celebrating the importance of education and recognizing the people who work tirelessly to provide the tools that shape the minds of our future generations. I want the public to be inspired by the imagery of children reading, learning, and working together, and to see the messages from those who make this possible.”
The murals, a testament to the power of collaboration between artists and educational leaders, will continue Holbrook’s legacy of using public art to teach lessons and inspire communities. The event is a unique opportunity for the public and media to engage with the work firsthand and appreciate the deeper messages embedded within the art.
