January 7th, 2014 - Youth Artist Deadline
December 12, 2013 - Meeting time 5:30-7:30PM
Third Meeting of the Longview Community Mural will be held at the Longview Museum of Fine Arts Building in the Arts Education Room called “Art Works”. We will serve refreshments and Finalize Design. The Media and Artists and any students may be attending along with Community Members who were involved in the Project. We will “Launch” the Project and celebrate.
December 10th Youth Artist Submission Deadline
Youth artists who wish to participate in the Longview Community Mural Project must submit their portfolio to one of the following locations by December 10th:
Barron's on Loop 281 - 405 W Loop 281, Longview, TX 75605
Create Art - 4315 Gilmer Rd #101, Longview, TX 75604
Longview Museum of Fine Arts - 215 E Tyler Ave, Longview, TX 75601
November 13, 2013 - Meeting time 5:30-7:00PM
Second Meeting of Artists and Community Members will be held at Create Arts located at 4315 Gilmer Road. Artists will turn in their designs and the Community Members will give feedback. Everyone will decide on a final design at this meeting. The Artists will then draw up the final design before the next meeting in December.
October 14, 2013 - Meeting time 5:30-7:00PM
First Meeting of Artists and Community Members will be held at the Moeshle Room at Longview Public Library. The time will be twelve noon.
Members of the Community and Artists will meet and learn about the Mural Project. Members of the Community will express what they would like to see on the Mural and Artists will exchange their ideas. With the ideas the Community Members have presented, the Artists will work on a drawing of the suggestions and present them at the next meeting in November.
